IMAP’s Spring Conference in Munich held on March 22-23 saw the formal launch of IMAP China.
IMAP China is an international team that specializes in mid-market M&A transactions between China and the rest of the world. The IMAP Germany and IMAP Netherlands China teams decided to join forces and launch IMAP’s specialist China Desk to better service our IMAP partners.

IMAP partners are now operating in a market that is transitioning away from a phase of cheap financing, pent-up demand and high valuations to one of surging inflation, rising interest rates, more selective investor appetite, and widespread domino effects from the war in Ukraine.
IMAP closed an all time high 294 M&A transactions valued at over $27 billion in 2021. The figure marked a significant jump up from the 212 transactions closed in 2020 and far surpassed the previous IMAP annual record of 230 transactions closed in 2019.
IMAP partners around the world closed 185 M&A deals worth more than $18 billion during the Q1-Q3 2021 period. The boom in market activity observed in the first half of the year continued in Q3 and indicators suggest that 2021 will close out as one the strongest years for IMAP on record.
